Service Summary

What you are agreeing to.

The plain-language version of how this works. It is a summary of what is already on the pricing page, written in one place because payment terms, ownership and what continues after a term are the things worth reading twice.

This page is a summary, not the contract. The signed Master Services Agreement is the document that governs the work, and it is more detailed than this. Where the two ever differ, the agreement is the one that counts — and I would want to know, so tell me at info@acuityweblabs.com.

Paying upfront

Upfront projects are 50% to begin and 50% at launch. All prices in Canadian dollars, before applicable tax.

Paying monthly

A monthly plan spreads the same website across a fixed term rather than renting it. Terms run from 12 to 36 months depending on the plan, so the figure worth comparing is the total rather than the monthly amount — base plan commitments start at $1,056 and reach $21,024 at the Business starting scope; custom scope can raise that total. These figures are over the full term, before the separate $30/month Managed Hosting charge. Billing and work both start at signing, not at launch.

Paying it off early

You can make extra payments or pay the outstanding website balance in full at any time, with no early-payment penalty. Paying off the website early does not automatically cancel hosting or other ongoing services — those continue until you say otherwise. Cancelling before the initial term ends is different: any amount due is calculated exactly as set out in your agreement before work begins.

Hosting

Managed Hosting is $30/month and is billed separately on every plan and on an upfront build. It is not bundled into any plan price, because it is an ongoing infrastructure cost rather than part of the build.

What you own

Once the work is paid for in full, your domain, content, data and branding are yours, along with everything made specifically for your business. The website itself comes with a permanent, royalty-free licence to host it anywhere, run it, back it up and change it for your business — there is nothing to keep paying for the right to use it. The licence goes with your business if you sell it; it does not cover copying, reselling or white-labelling the site or its tools for anyone else.

If you leave

Your licence and your right to use the website continue permanently once it is paid for. Managed Hosting, monitoring, support and my code warranty continue only while I host it.

If something I built does not work

If something I built doesn't work as described in the agreed scope, I correct it at no charge while I host your site and your account is current, and it is never billed to you. That covers defects in work I delivered, including later paid additions. It does not cover new requirements, changes made by someone else, or failures caused by third-party services outside my control.

Costs that are not mine

Third-party costs such as domain registration, business email, payment-provider fees, and specialized software are billed separately where applicable.

Acuity Care after the term

Once a term is paid in full the plan payment stops and the website is yours. Hosting continues if you keep it with me, and Acuity Care becomes optional from there.
