The Challenge
Bennett & Sons is two tradespeople, not one. David has 35 years in tile and bathrooms; his son Justin has 20 in hardwood and hard-surface flooring. A homeowner planning a shower rebuild and one pricing a new floor need different people, and a single phone number sends half of them to the wrong partner. Tile work has a second problem: the part that decides whether a shower lasts, the waterproofing, is buried behind the tile before the customer ever sees it, so the craft they are paying for is the part they cannot judge.
The Solution
I built a five-page site around the two trades: Home, Tile & Bathrooms, Hard Surface Flooring, About, and Request an Estimate. Both partners' numbers show everywhere, each labelled with what to call about, and each service page's call button goes straight to the partner who leads that work. The tile page walks through one real shower rebuild stage by stage, waterproofing included, in their own photographs. Their Schluter certification, WorkSafeBC coverage and BCAA liability insurance sit up front, and the estimate form asks for what it takes to price a floor or a bathroom, photos included.
Custom Functionality
- Calls routed by trade: both partners' numbers in the header, footer and phone call bar, each labelled "tile & bathrooms" or "flooring", and each service page's call button dialling the partner who leads that trade.
- A step-by-step job walkthrough on the Tile & Bathrooms page: one walk-in shower photographed at five stages over five days, from bare studs through the Schluter KERDI-BOARD waterproofing to the finished room, in an accessible dialog that works with a keyboard and a screen reader.
- An estimate form that asks for project type, square footage, project location, timeframe, whether materials are chosen yet, and photos of the space, so a request arrives with what it takes to price the job. It goes through Netlify Forms with a honeypot for spam, and I tested a real submission into their inbox before launch.
- Their own job photography throughout, never stock, with confirmed trust facts stated precisely: Schluter-Certified Installer, WorkSafeBC coverage, and liability insurance through BCAA.
