The Challenge

Chris had recently stepped away from selling through Shopify, moving that side of the business to Amazon, and did not want a full online store running on his own domain again — but he still needed a real site: somewhere to explain what makes his kiln-dried wood different, let local customers see what's available, and keep the family story that actually brings people back a second time.

The Solution

A brochure-style site built around the two things that sell this business: the kiln-drying process, explained step by step with real photography of Chris's own equipment rather than stock imagery, and the veteran-owned, three-generation family story that shows up in real Google reviews already on the page. Customers browse firewood, cooking wood, kindling and cocktail smokers and reserve what they need; payment happens on pickup rather than at checkout, matching how a small local business actually transacts instead of adding a payment processor Chris didn't want.

Custom Functionality

  • A four-step kiln-drying process explainer (Sourced, Kiln-Dried, Prepped, Ready to Burn), each step illustrated with real photography of Chris's own kiln and stock — not stock photography.
  • Product browsing across firewood, cooking/pizza wood, kindling and cocktail smokers, structured around pay-on-pickup rather than an online store — the deliberate alternative once Chris retired Shopify and moved retail to Amazon.
  • Real, attributed Google reviews built into the page rather than a generic testimonial slider.
  • A veteran-owned, family-operated story woven through the design rather than confined to an About page.
How It Works

“Acuity Web Labs did an excellent job redesigning our website. They made the entire process smooth and helped us get the new site launched much faster than we expected. The finished website looks great, performs better, and gives our business a much more professional online presence. We highly recommend their team!”
